Agricultural Sciences of HZAU is positioned in the top 1‰ in Essential Science Indicators (ESI) discipline rankings newly published on March 14. It is HZAU’s second discipline featuring within the global top 1‰. HZAU made a significant jump to No.905 among 6009 global universities and research institutions, 11 places higher than the previous rankings (on January, 2019).

In the statistical period of ESI discipline from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2018, HZAU has 1871 papers with 17596 citations in agricultural sciences. By virtue of the number of publications and high average citation, 9.4 per paper, HZAU has been ranked as the top 9.9% (83th) within the top global 1% (among 838 universities and research institutions), thus featuring in top 1‰. In this discipline, 9 Chinese mainland universities enter the top 1‰.

Currently, 8 disciplines of HZAU are within the global top 1% in the ESI global rankings, with 2 disciplines rising to top 1‰ (Botany and Zoology, Agricultural Sciences) and 6 disciplines retaining as the top 1% (Chemistry, Biology & Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Microbiology, Environmental Science/Ecology and Engineering ).
