Professor Xiong Lizhong of HZAU is in Global Highly Cited Researchers (HCR)2018 List in the category of Plant and Animal Science. Moreover, nine faculty members of HZAU, Professor Zhang Qifa, Wang Shiping, Xiong Lizhong, Zhang Xianlong, Peng Shaobing, Jin Meilin, Xiao Shaobo, Wang Gejiao and Xie Bijun are named in the 2018 list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers.
The HCR list was published by Clarivate Analytics. Now in its fifth year, the citation analysis identifies influential researchers as determined by their peers around the globe – those who have consistently won recognition in the form of high citation counts over a decade. In 2018, Some 4000+ Highly Cited Researchers are named in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences. Xiong Lizhong, professor of College of Life Science and Technology of HZAU and Ph.D. Supervisor, is a Changjiang Distinguished Professor awarded by the Ministry of Education of China.The focus of Professor Xiong’s research is understanding the rice functional genomics, the biological basis and genetic improvement of rice stress-related genes, the isolation and functional characterization of rice stress-related transcription factors, etc. Up to now, HZAU has boasted two faculty members, Professor Peng Shaobing (2017) and Xiong Lizhong (2017 and 2018) in the HCR list.
The 2018 list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers was announced by Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, recognizing 1,899 researchers in China from 229 universities, research institutes or enterprises. The list, anchored in objective citation data, systematically analyzed the influence of China’s researchers in the world. Elsevier’s Scopus database provides data and technical support for the list. In the field of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Professor Zhang Qifa is top in the ranking; Professor Peng Shaobing, Wang Shiping, Zhang Xianlong and Xie Bijun rank 14th, 24th, 57th, and 92th, respectively. In the field of Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular biology, Professor Xiong Lizhong claims 25th place. In the field of Immunity and Microorganism, Professor Jin Meilin, Xiao Shaobo and Wang Gejiao capture 11th, 27th and 30th place, respectively.
