On the morning of December 18, Research School of Biology of Australian National University（ANU） and College of Life Sciences & Technology of HZAU launched the signing ceremony of the “2+2” joint & dual degree program in the Building No 1. Attendees included Prof. Allen Rodrigo, director of Research School of Biology of ANU, Dr. Arthur Xu, director of the international program of ANU, Prof. Wang Xuelu, dean of College of Life Sciences & Technology of HZAU, and related personnel from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, International College and College of Life Sciences & Technology.
Prof. Wang extended welcome to Prof. Allen Rodrigo and his delegation and briefly introduced College of Life Sciences & Technology. When it comes to the program, he said that the final decision to work with ANU was built on extensive exchanges and negotiations, thus enhancing mutual cooperation, providing a good platform for students, and hopefully, bringing more substantive joint programs.
Prof. Allen Rodrigo expressed heart-felt gratitude for the warm reception and fully recognition of the program. “I hope we can achieve great results in cooperation,” he said: “I also hope more Chinese students will choose ANU and achieve success in the future.”
Then Prof. Wang and Prof. Allen Rodrigo jointly signed the agreement of the program, which included a consensus in credit certification. That means the students meeting the requirement of the program can get dual degree of both universities after two-year study in ANU.
After the ceremony, Prof. Allen Rodrigo and directors introduced the program in details, attracting more than 40 undergraduates, overseas students and teachers.
ANU is a world-leading university in Australia’s capital city, Canberra. Its establishment was under the auspices of a special bill passed by the Federal Parliament. ANU enjoys international prestige for its education and research, placed at the 24th in 2019 QS World University Rankings. It is an intellectual powerhouse with six Nobel laureates and over 270 federal academicians.
