Recently, representatives of HZAU Landscape Architecture Alumni Association (HZAU-LAAA) made their first donation of RMB 12.5 million to set up “HZAU Landscape Architecture Education Fund” for disciplinary development. School party secretary Gao Chi, vice president Guo Gangqi, the director of Alumni Association Office, the dean of College of Horticulture & Forestry Sciences, and teacher representatives of Landscape Architecture Department attended the donation ceremony.
Deng Juntao, secretary-general of HZAU Landscape Architecture Education Fund, introduced how the “HZAU Landscape Architecture Education Fund” was set up and noted that the first donation would be mainly used for building strong teacher teams of Landscape Architecture Department as well as creating new platforms for teaching and scientific research. Representatives of Alumni Association signed the donation agreement and received donation certificates from Guo Gangqi.
On behalf of alumni donators, Zhu Liqing, chairman of Shanghai WEME Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd., expressed heartfelt gratitude to his alma mater and the teachers for their years of diligent work as well as his pride in the school’s great achievements. The donation was indicative of their deep love towards their alma mater and their sincere hope that HZAU will nurture more talents for the country and the society as the discipline develops faster.
In his closing remarks, Gao noted that this year marks the 120th anniversary of HZAU and through 120 years of development, the university has made huge progress, which is attributable to the country’s concern and support, the alumni’s care and contributions, and the faculty and students’ joint efforts. He said, HZAU’s entry into “Double First-Class” Initiative was a new starting point for its high-quality development. The alumni’s financial support for the Landscape Architecture discipline will give a boost to the university’s development.
