On the afternoon of October 25th, Sugon Information Industry Co., Ltd. and HZAU jointly established the National Engineering Technology Research Center High Performance Computer（Wuhan Sub-Center). The opening ceremony of the center was held at the College of Informatics of HZAU. Guo Gangqi, Vice President of HZAU, attended the opening ceremony. Li Xiangdong, Secretary of the Party committee of College of Informatics, presided over the ceremony.
Guo Gangqi said in his speech that the research center marked a new stage of cooperation between Sugon and HZAU, and he was confident that it would be well-developed so as to create a bright future for school-enterprise cooperation. At the meeting, Professor Zhang Hongyu, dean of the College of Informatics, and Mr Li Chuanjun, assistant president and general manager of Central China Sugon, signed a cooperation agreement. Ye Jian, Chief Operating Officer of Sugon, and Guo Gangqi unveiled the plaque of the research center at the scene. Zhang Hongyu and Ye Jian delivered speeches respectively, expressing their intentions for all-round strategic cooperation in terms of scientific research, talents cultivating, industrialization, etc.
Other attendees included Liu Li, President of Sugon, Guo Qing, Vice General Manager of Big Data and Innovation Business Department, Guo Xiao, Director of University Operations, Li Xiaoying, General Manager of Hubei Branch, Sun Chao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Informatics, Xu Xunguang, Vice Dean of College of Informatics. After the ceremony, Ye Jian and his group visited the laboratories and administrative offices.
According to the agreement, the College of Informatics of HZAU and Sugon will carry out in-depth cooperation through projects on the construction of branch center for high-performance computing and its laboratories, students’ practice bases, computing software and platform, so as to promote bio-informatics applications in Hubei Province and promote the training of school-enterprise professionals.
