On October 11, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China released the list of Innovative Talent Promotion Program of 2017, which includes 323 leading middle-aged and young talents of technical innovation and 54 innovative teams in key areas. Professor Li Bin, Yan Xianghua and Li Yibo of HZAU were selected as leading middle-aged and young talents of technical innovation, while Professor Shi Zhihua’s team on soil erosion and ecological regulation was chosen as innovative team in key areas.
As a critical part of national high-level talents planning system, the Innovative Talent Promotion Program was jointly carried out by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Education in 2012. It aims to cultivate world-class scientists, high-level technical talents and engineers, outstanding innovative teams and entrepreneurs by innovating system and mechanism, optimizing policy environment and strengthening supporting measures. Our goal is to build a number of demonstration bases for training innovative personnel, strengthen the building of high-level innovative scientific and technological personnel and drive the development of all kinds of scientific and technological personnel, so as to provide talents with independent innovative capabilities and build China into an innovation-oriented country. So far, HZAU boasts eighteen leading middle-aged and young talents of technical innovation, three innovative teams in key areas and one demonstration base.
