On April 14th, a Summing-up and Update meeting was held in Guangdong Wenshi Food Co., Ltd. on a National Key Project “Research and Development（R&D）of Key Technology for Modernization of Livestock and Poultry Breeding” (hereinafter referred to as the Project) run by HZAU. There were about 50 participants, including the project manager and consultants from Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) and all the project members.

At the meeting, Dr. Sun Kangtai, from Center of Rural Technology, MST, delivered a report titled “Integrated Implementation Progress and Management”, and introduced the achievements and implementation requirements of the project “Integrated Technology R & D of Animal and Poultry on Important Epidemic Prevention and Control and Efficient and Safe Farming”. Prof. Jiang Siwen, the PI, as well as other group leaders, respectively reported on the project status, research progress and plans, and the use of funds. Consultants and all the project members conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions. Internal discussions on some problems and task requirements of the project were also made in various sub-topics, further clarifying the tasks and schedule in 2018.

The Project, combining domestic strengths in scientific research with leading enterprises in agriculture and animal husbandry, aims to develop cost-effective modern feeding technologies for different regions and species in China, and provide technological support for sustainable development and leap-frog development. The meeting effectively promoted exchanges within the project and the progress of project implementation.
