From April. 16th to 19th, University of Georgia（UGA）delegation led by Prof. Harry Dickerson, Associate Dean of College of Veterinary Medicine of UGA along with Prof. Fu Zhenfang, Distinguished Professor of HZAU (former faculty of UGA) visited HZAU. Prof. Zhang Xianlong, Vice President of HZAU and the heads from College of Animal Sciences＆Technology/ College of Veterinary Medicine warmly received the delegation.
On the morning of April.17th, an exchange meeting was held in Room B105, Dongke Building. Prof. Cao Shengbo, Dean of College of Animal Sciences＆Technology/ College of Veterinary Medicine welcomed the delegation and extended special thanks to Prof. Fu for facilitating the cooperative education between the two universities. He also hoped that the two sides would have in-depth and all-round cooperation on the existing basis. Later, Prof. Peng Guiqing and Prof. Harry Dickerson introduced the status in quo of HZAU and UGA respectively.
The two sides signed HZAU and UGA Cooperation Framework Agreement and reached a consensus on faculty and students exchange, scientific research cooperation, prospective bilateral meetings and special short-term academic visits. The two sides also exchanged views on the implementation of DVM joint education program, summer camp project for the undergraduates majoring in Clinical Veterinary Medicine, UGA teachers providing courses in English in HZAU, cooperation fund program and specific plans for faculty and students exchange.
In the afternoon, Prof. Zhang met the delegation. He reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and believed that HZAU would continue to advance the in-depth cooperation with UGA. He also extended sincere gratitude to Prof. Fu for his contribution to HZAU’s international cooperation.
The next day, Prof. Harry Dickerson made a report entitled “Veterinary Medical Education and Research at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine”, which introduced the recent development of education and research in College of Veterinary Medicine of UGA. At the end of the lecture, he invited faculty and students of HZAU to visit UGA for study and exchange.
