The Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council recently issued the Notice of the 2017 List of Doctor’s and Master’s Degrees Authorized Units Newly Approved (Academic degree〔2018〕No.9), according to which HZAU has been permitted to have two more first-level disciplines granting doctoral degrees, five more first-level disciplines granting master’s degrees and a freshly added class granting doctoral professional degree.
Meanwhile, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council also released the Notice of 2017 Dynamic Adjustment List of Repealed and Added Academic Degrees Authorized Units(Academic degree〔2018〕No.3), and after the dynamic adjustment HZAU got respectively four added and four cancelled.

It is reported that this time HZAU has got the most number of degree units ever approved in the past years and a groundbreaking category of doctoral professional degree as well as a breakthrough in the first-level disciplines of both economics and literature granting master’s degrees. Thus, the structure of disciplines has been further optimized and the multi-level and multi-disciplinary system of academic degrees authorization and postgraduate education have been further improved, which lays a good foundation for the double first-class discipline construction of the university.
Up to now, HZAU has in total 15 first-level doctoral degree granting units and 27 first-level master’s degree granting units; 1 doctoral professional degree authorized and 10 master’s professional degrees authorized.
