2017 Annual Summing-up Meeting of public welfare research projects on Soil Fertilization and Proper Farming System of One-Harvest Region in Northern China was held in International Academic Exchange Center on March 9-11. Over 30 domestic experts attended the meeting, including Sun Junli, deputy director of Industry and Technology Office from Ministry of Agriculture and Fu Tingdong, leading scientist of the project. Yao Jianglin, vice president of HZAU and Guan Huanda,executive vice dean of Institute of Science and Technology Development attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Guan.
At the opening ceremony, vice president Yao expressed his welcome and gratitude to all the participating experts. He started with the prospect of university’s 120-year anniversary, and then introduced HZAU’s history, academic atmosphere and its beautiful campus. Later, he congratulated the research teams on their progress and expressed his high expectations for further achievements. He encouraged the team members to continue their diligent work and reap high-quality research gains so that the project can be concluded by 2020.
Later, Sun Junli, on behalf of the management, gave a speech. She introduced the background of the project and proposed specific requirements: project teams should be well organized, willing to exchange, and innovative in cooperation. Besides, project achievements should be strictly recorded, results should be strongly supported, and research fruits should be applied widely to benefit more farmers. Sun also emphasized that project team members should abide by the financial management rules, spend funds according to the plan and avoid large amount of surplus. She hoped that team members can work together to make more progress so that they can provide strong supports for farmland protection, rural development and eco-agriculture development.
During the meeting, leading researchers of each team gave their work reports respectively. In their reports, the core technologies applied in the project were discussed, and the innovations and achievements were summarized. Experts committee highly valued the significance of the project for protecting blackland, growing forage grass and promoting rural tourism.
