On October 30th, a seven-person delegation led by Party Secretary Liu Zhaohui, Dean Liao Qingxi and Associate Dean Chen Shenggen from the College of Engineering visited Hubei University of Arts and Science (HUAS), and signed an all-round cooperation agreement with the College of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of HUAS. HUAS’s Party Secretary Tang Jun, Vice President Wang Yun, and Dean Liu Kefei from College of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering extended warm welcome to HZAU delegation.
At the meeting, Tang Jun said that HUAS was based on Xiangyang, serving for and integrating into the city. HUAS vigorously promoted the integration of science and education, and the cooperation between HUAS and enterprises, so as to make positive contributions to the economic and social development of Xiangyang. Tang hoped that through the cooperation between the two colleges, College of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of HUAS could better learn the educational philosophy and management experience from the College of Engineering in HZAU, and that the College of Engineering could give more support and guidance for the College of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering in HUAS.
During the visit, Liu Zhaohui said Party Secretary Tang Jun used to work in HAZU for a long time and had provided great support and help to the College of Engineering. After taking office at HUAS, Tang actively facilitated the cooperation and exchange between the two universities and appointed managerial staff to HZAU for training, which further enhanced the friendship between the two colleges. Based on Xiangyang, the College of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering is committed to the development of local industries and has gained much experience in setting up a collaborative innovation center by integrating innovative resources, close cooperation with enterprises in training applied professionals and striving for more and better educational resources. These are experiences that the College of Engineering could draw on. The two colleges have much to learn from each other and more for cooperation, facing the common tasks of cultivating talents and academic development.
Later, Dean Liao Qingxi and Dean Liu Kefei signed an all-round cooperation agreement. And Liao delivered a lecture to the young teachers of HUAS on how to apply for the projects of the National Natural Science Fundation of China (NSFC).
