On Nov 19th, Deng Xiuxin, president of Huazhong Agricultural University, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave a course of science popularization to over 30 pupils from Gruber Experimental Primary School in the scientific research base.

Academician Deng Xiuxin, a well-known expert on citrus in China, gained great popularity among pupils when he was introducing to them varieties of citrus, knowledge about citrus cultivation and methods of diseases and pests prevention in his base. He hoped that such activities could inspire scientists to shoulder a larger part of science popularization in their spare time.
