On the afternoon of November 3rd, the two-day 9th Hubei Tea Vocational Skills Competition opened at Tianmen Vocational College. Many tea experts were invited to the competition to test the competitors’ vocational skills. The competition is aimed at building a solid foundation for the development of talent pool and tea industry. It also attracted many tea lovers to watch the performances.
168 competitors of 14 teams from Hubei Province participated in the competition which comprises of tea art specialist competition and tea taster competition. Three students, Zhu Wen, Gao Yupei and Ma Yuming from Tea Science Department of Horticulture and Forestry Science College, HZAU, participated in the tea-taster competition. The competitors offered wonderful tea performance with their ingenious designs and unrivalled skills to audience, leading them to a splendid tea world. Highly skilled tea-taster made the sensory evaluation of the tea with their excellent skills of tea weighting, brewing , tasting and recording.
In this competition, the team from HZAU gained good prizes with Zhu Wen getting the only gold medal for tea-taster, and Gao Yupei and Ma Yuming getting two silver medals.
