The visit aims to strengthen cooperation as well as exchange ideas with education institutions and research institutes of Russia, to participate vigorously in “One Belt and One Road” initiative and implement its cooperative education policy, as a step to promote HZAU’s international cooperation at the opening of the thirteenth Five-Year Plan.
To promote scientific research cooperation, teachers’ exchange visits, and students’ exchange programs, the group had deep and extensive exchanges with Prof. Mikhail Petrovich Kirpichnikov (vice president of MSU), Prof. Nikolay A. Kolchanov (academician of RAS and Director of SB RAS), and Prof. Aleksey Okunev (vice president of NSU). Knowing that Prof. Li Guoliang (College of Informatics) had cooperation with SB RAS prior to the visit, Secretary Li pointed out that both parties have great potential in bilateral cooperation in animal and plant biology and three-dimensional genomics in addition to bioinformatics and could further strengthen mutual exchanges.
Russia and China are big nations in science and education. Both countries are friendly neighbors and have good foundation for and enjoy a long history in scientific, technological and cultural cooperation and exchanges. HZAU is an influential multi-disciplinary university with agricultural science as its advantageous discipline and life science as its feature. In the new era, HZAU will further improve its governance and promote its international influence through international cooperation and exchanges. The visit to Russia is intended for implementing China’s “One Belt and One Road” strategic policy and broadening bilateral cooperation channels so that both sides can achieve win-win cooperation and make complementary advantages in both education and technology.
