On June 16th, a teach-in of “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at the meeting room A411 of the Startup Incubator at HZAU. It was hosted by Zhan Huiguang, the counselor of College of Informatics. The deputy secretary of CYL Liu Sanbao, the dean Zhang Cheng and some teachers of the Department of Computer Application attended this conference.
An introductory video kicked off the teach-in of the 2nd “Internet+” Competition. First, Han Wei, director of publicity department of university CYL, gave an introduction to this competition and encouraged participants to closely link the Internet with our life and learn from the competition. Then, Mr. Zhang introduced the “Mentor Tank” of the competition, with the support from teachers from Department of Computer Science. Later, associate Prof. Wang shared his research on “Internet+”, proposing that “innovative technology and thinking are the prerequisites of success”. He explained the “Internet thinking” on nine aspects such as user’s thinking, simple thinking and ultimate thinking. Also, he distinguished between “Internet+” and “+Internet”, hoping all competing teams would have better understanding of the “Internet thinking”.
Wang Langwei, alumnus from College of Resources and Environment, is the winner of the gold medal of the 1st Hubei province “Internet+” Competition. He shared his experience and mentioned that well-planned schedule and great teamwork will improve the efficiency and increase the chance of winning. The firm faith, excellent leader, core technology and determination to make a difference were all significant in the competition.
In the end of the conference, Mr. Liu concluded it is a high-quality competition with a wide coverage. He hoped more students could get involved in it and gain more related experience. It is reported that the “Internet+” Competition has been officially launched recently. A mentor team from College of Informatics has been set up to provide consultations for those who would like to participate in this competition at C314 of Yifu Building from June 20th to 22th.
