The 7th International Conference on Urban and Landscape Architecture: “U+L New Thinking” & “Poetic&Yuanjing” National Design Competition for College Students was held in Huazhong University of Science and Technology on Nov. 19th and 20th. The conference was themed on urban design from the perspective of landscape architecture, and experts, scholars and students of related fields were invited. Prof. Gao Chi, discipline leader of landscape architecture in HZAU, gave an opening speech and hosted the conference. Wu Xuefei, head of Landscape Architecture Department at HZAU made a report entitled Green Urban Design and Landscape Architecture---- Starting from Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design.

During the ceremony, Prof. Gao gave credit to the theme and its promotion on R&D of related subjects. He also shared his ideas when chairing the first session.

On the afternoon of Nov.19th, Prof. Wu explained that the relationship between green urban design and landscape architecture through definition, meaning and examples of green urban design. He pointed out that landscape architecture should be put to the forefront in modern city design.

More than 20 experts gave speeches on the ceremony, with topics involving education, theory and practice of city design. All experts, from different disciplines, had in-depth discussion centering on the theme of “New Thinking on Urban Design from the Perspective of Landscape Architecture”.
