On the afternoon of February 13, leaders of HZAU held the third scheduling of 2023 in the administrative building. Gao Chi, secretary of the party committee of HZAU, presided over the meeting, and other members reviewed what they did last week and reported on the arrangement for the coming week.

The meeting conveyed information about the arrangements of the first week, including leaders’ attendance of the first theme class meeting and of the first class. The meeting pointed out that everything had been going well with the efforts of all students and faculty. Particularly, in the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, our faculty took the opportunity to help students set up positive values in light of the epidemic prevention and control, social hotspots, and the missions of contemporary youth. By doing so, the first class fully demonstrated the meaningfulness of education. The meeting also asked faculty to ensure the quality of values-oriented courses, so as to help students at all grades cultivate patriotism, refine positive characters, and inspire their sense of responsibility.
The meeting stressed that solid preparations should be made for the reflection meeting. Importance should be attached to extensively soliciting opinions and suggestions in various forms. Teachers and students were welcomed to speak freely and honestly about their deficiencies and problems. And their appropriate suggestions would be put into practice once adopted in order to make improvements and promote development. It was necessary to give full play to the party organizations at all levels to do a good job in the implementation of required documents. All reports must explain their political, theoretical and emotional connotations. We need further study the No. 1 document of the CPC Central Committee in 2023, deeply understand the historical position, strategic positioning, and leading position of agricultural powers, and define the main development direction and strategic focus in the light of the reality of HZAU.
On the basis of further stabilizing services in such areas as education, teaching, and scientific research management, the meeting pointed out that everyone should step up efforts to discuss the key tasks of the year, and clarify the road map, persons in charge, and timetable. We also need to adhere to the same quality standards, strict examination style, and do a good job in organizing the delayed final exams. We should beef up supervision over the construction of Xiangyang Modern Agricultural Research Institute (Xiangyang Academy), set major research directions and form a joint force for progress. We will make overall plans for the construction of all infrastructure projects in 2023 to ensure that key projects are completed with high quality on schedule. We will make achievements in the construction of the platform integrating finance, assets, recruitment management and budget management, in order to enhance the ability of financial governance and security. We will timely summarize the practice and effectiveness of target management and performance appraisal in secondary units, so as to further optimize the evaluation system and focus more on incentive-oriented policies.
