Recently, the honorary certificate of 2022 National Science Week and Major Demonstration Activities was bestowed to HZAU for its participation, service and outstanding performance by the National Science Popularization Joint Session of Conference and the Department of Science and Technology Talent and Popularization of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
During this week, a dozen of science popularization activities were carried out by national and provincial science popularization bases, related colleges and national key labs under the leadership of the HZAU’s Association for Science and Technology. On the theme of “Approaching Science and Technology”, these activities include “Innovative Vision” BioArts Exhibition, “Wild Animal Exhibition”, “Embracing Incense --- Chu Incense Exhibition”, “Science Lecture on Common Bird Identification”, “Wonderful Seeds” Science Class, and microbiology observation experiments.
Some national-level research platforms were opened to the public, including the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement, the National Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, the National Engineering Research Center of Rapeseed, and the National Engineering and Technology Research Center for Livestock. And experts and staff were invited to give on-site explanations and answer questions.
All told, these activities have attracted more than 5,000 participants from colleges, primary and secondary schools, and other non-school sectors. A climate of Sci-Tech innovation and science popularization has been created with the active involvement of the majority of our scientists and engineers, who have not only implemented the required plan, but also highlighted distinct characteristics.
HZAU has achieved good results in the science popularization in 2022.We have held the First HZAU Science Presentation, and Mr. Jiang Hao, the Curator of the Museum of HZAU, has been voted as one of the “Top Ten Science Ambassadors in Hubei Province”. In addition, we have been presented one 2nd prize in the Hubei Science Presentation Contest. And in the Wuhan Experimental Performance, we has got one prize for the 1st Class, one prize for the 3rd Class and one Merit Award. And we also have gained the Excellent Organization Award both in the above two events. What’s more, the University has been approved to set up three science popularization bases at national level, three at provincial level, and one of the first batch of “Innovation China” innovation bases of the CAST.
