On Dec.10, 2022 Communication Forum on Chinese Culture was held at HZAU online, which was attended by 30 scholars from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Vietnam, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and Kazakhstan. It provided a platform for them to exchange opinions online. It was presided over by Professor Bi Geng(Director of the Chinese Culture Communication Research Center of HZAU).
Professor Tian Beihai (Dean of College of Humanities & social sciences at HZAU)noted that the academic exchanges among scholars of communication studies and Chinese international education at home and aboard could provide suggestions for the publicity of Chinese culture. Besides, it could promote the teaching and scientific research of communication and accelerate the reform, innovation and integrated development of humanities at HZAU. Researcher Mo Xiaoniu, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Sinogram Culture delivered a speech, suggesting that the participators should contribute to the inheritance and spreading of Chinese culture at home and abroad.
This forum was themed by “the theory and practice of the communication of Chinese culture in the context of globalization”, encompassing its historical development, implications, knowledge system, applications, methods and measures, and the research of the external communication and education research of Chinese, its literature and culture, as well as the teaching reform and practice of college Chinese courses under the background of the new liberal arts construction.
The forum was divided into four sections, each of which had different topics, with a special section for postgraduate as usual. Domestic and foreign scholars highlighted topics how to better tell China’s stories, make China’s voice heard. The forum was featured by distinctive topic, rich knowledge and substantial insights.
Junior Faculty Li Xinye, together with the international postgraduate Ruan Shihong majoring in communication, both from College of Humanities & social sciences at HZAU, submitted their papers and attended this forum for exchanges.
Professor Bi concluded that Research Center would take this opportunity to deepen exchanges and mutual learning with scholars at home and abroad, vigorously conduct theoretical research and practical discussions on the international communication of Chinese culture, and tirelessly improve the ability of academic research and practice, so as to make due contributions to the communications of Chinese culture.
This forum was hosted by the College of Humanities & Social Sciences of HZAU and Research Center of Chinese Culture Communication, co-sponsored by Huaxia Communication Research Association, the Communication Research Institute of Xiamen University, College of Humanities of Huaqiao University, College of Humanities of Wuhan University of Engineering Science, Chinese Culture Communication Research Center of Fujian University Humanities and Social Sciences Research Base, and other three editorial departments of Chinese Culture and Communication Studies, HuaXia Communication Studies and Sinogram Culture. It has been the third academic activity held by the Chinese Culture Communication Research Center at HZAU since its establishment.
