On the afternoon of March 4th, Liu Yanhong(Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Director of Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hubei Province(Hubei DHRSS)) and fellow officers went to Wuhan Shuizhiguo Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd to present the gold prize certificate and bonus of the 1st China Postdoctoral Innovation & Enterpreneurship Competition to Wu Dingxin, a Dr. researcher of HZAU. Gao Chi(Secretary of the Party committee of HZAU), and Yang Shaobo(Vice President of HZAU) attended the award ceremony.

Liu Yanhong congratulated Wu Dingxin and spoke highly of the talent work of HZAU. She pointed out that the postdoctoral team was an important component of young talents and like a reservoir for the growth of high-level talents. And Hubei Provincial Government has really attached great importance to the training of postdoctoral team and provided adequate funding support. She stressed that Wu Dingxin’s team is a model of the post doctoral team in Hubei Province, and hoped that this team could make more progress and breakthrough in fostering industry-university-research cooperation, promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and serving industrial needs. She said that Hubei DHRSS would continue to be a good “supporter” and provide more accurate services for high-quality, professional and top-class talents.

On behalf of HZAU, Gao Chi expressed his gratitude to Hubei DHRSS. He pointed out that were in the new era of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” has become the trend of the times. Dr. Wu Dingxin has enriched the HZAU motto--“Learn and practice, achieve and help achieve” with his own actions, showing the valuable spirit of the young generations. He said that the gold prize is the affirmation of Wu Dingxin’s team’s excellent work and also the honor of HZAU, inspiring HZAU to improve the cultivation and its services of postdoctoral talents. At the same time, he also emphasized that the postdoctoral team played an important role in building HZAU as a world-class university with distinctive characteristics. HZAU will continue to work hard on talents training to bring up a group of high-level young scientific and technological talents.
Having finished his undergraduate, graduate and doctoral study in the College of Life Sciences and Technology of HZAU, Wu Dingxin entered the Agricultural Resources and Environment Postdoctoral Station after graduation. In 2015, he founded Wuhan Shuizhiguo Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. As the team leader, his entrepreneurial project of “high concentration and refractory industrial sewage treatment microbial agent products” won the gold award of the 1st China Postdoctoral Innovation & Enterpreneurship Competition. The competition was co-organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee. It was a National Postdoctoral innovation and entrepreneurship event with the largest scale, the highest level and the widest coverage since the implementation of China’s postdoctoral system. On the theme of “Exploring the essence of science & technology and leading the future with innovation”, the competition consisted of four categories: innovation competition, entrepreneurship competition, overseas competition and selected-topic competition. These four categories produced 57 gold, 91 silver and 125 bronze awards. Talents from Hubei province finally brought home 1 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze awards.
In addition, two innovative projects form HZAU won the award for their excellent performance, namely “Application of Pig Cloning Technology in Agricultural Breeding and Bio-medicine” by Dr. Liu Xin of the Animal Husbandry Postdoctoral Research Station, “Citrus Cytoplasmic Hybrid ‘Huayou 2’ Male Sterility Mechanism and Seedless Breeding” by Dr. Wang Rong of the Horticulture Postdoctoral Research Station.
