The signing ceremony of the Digital Agriculture AI Industry College between HZAU and JD Technology (JDT) was held at the headquarters of JD Group in Yizhuang, Beijing on October 14. Li Zhaohu (President of HZAU), Yao Jianglin (Vice President of HZAU) and Guan Huanda (President of Xiangyang Modern Agricultural Research Institute ) attended the ceremony. Gao Liqiang expressed his confidence in the cooperation with HZAU, a university with a profound cultural heritage. When introducing the development of JD Group, he said that agricultural products play an important role in JD, which includes more than 9 million commodities. The cooperation with HZAU is an important opportunity to serve national strategies and jointly promote the integration of industry and education. Firstly, relying on its ecological resources in the whole chain of smart agriculture applications, JDT will support HZAU’s R&D of key technologies and training of application-oriented talents; Secondly, HZAU will give full play to its advantages in science, education and talents. With joint efforts, HZAU and JDT will establish a new model of integration between industry and education, and build a closed loop of modern agricultural industry chain, supply chain and ecological chain, which will provide a new model for driving the transformation and upgrading of modern agricultural industry.
Li Zhaohu expressed his admiration for JD’s miraculous achievements in the past 18 years. He said HZAU has developed a series of special agricultural products represented by “six ones” (flower, rice, pig, seedling, tree and bean). In the future, digital and creative agriculture will lead the innovative development of modern agriculture. The two sides should fully grasp the great opportunity brought by the national policy of deepening integration of industry and education, and take the road of integrated development of government, industry, education, scientific research and applications. He hoped that HZAU and JDT can take the joint establishment of the College as the starting point, continuously expand the cooperation fields, and make positive contributions to serving the major national needs together.

At the signing ceremony, Jin Yang (Vice President of JD Cloud), and Guan Huanda signed the Cooperation Agreement on Co-Building Digital Agriculture AI Industry College. The agreement aims to build the College under Xiangyang Modern Agricultural Research Institute, relying on JDT’s profound experience in industrial supply chain and AI applications, and HZAU’s advantages in talents, science and education. JD Group will provide 100 million yuan for the College’s faculty development, platform construction, talent training, scientific research, technological innovation, and social services. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation on AI, big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things, etc. Further, they will build new targeted applications and train professional talents for smart agriculture to solve the problems relevant to the farmers’ vital interests, empower the development of smart agriculture, and contribute to comprehensive rural revitalization and realization of “strong agriculture, rich farmers, beautiful rural areas”.
