This contest, with the principle of “Teaching a course well”, consisted of five groups, namely Science, Engineering, Ideological and Political Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Foreign Language. All contestants need to include 20 core sections of a course. And the contest was composed of 4 parts: teaching plan design, classroom teaching, teaching reflection, and defense. Besides, in this year’s contest, the candidates only knew their teaching content by lot right before the competition, and were to reflect and answer questions on the spot. Compared with previous contests, the competition was more challenging this year. Because with less time to prepare, contestants’ good strain capacity was expected.
During the competition, heads of HZAU, including Gao Chi (Secretary of CPC Committee, HZAU), Li Zhaohu (President), and Yao Jianglin (Vice President), and heads from the Hubei Federation of Trade Unions watched the contest and expressed appreciation for the hard work of contestants, judges, and volunteers.
The Teaching Contest for Young Teachers is a high-level contest jointly held by the National and Hubei Trade Union of Education, Science, Culture, Health, and Sports, with the aim of improving young teachers’ teaching ability. Before the 7th contest, HZAU has held the provincial contest for three times (in 2008, 2010, and 2012). Thanks to the coordination and organization of the working team, active cooperation among departments, and the arduous work of volunteers, the contest came to a successful conclusion, and was spoken highly of by participating colleges and universities, contestants, and experts.
