HZAU gets approval from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Protection to set up the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory for Soil Health Diagnosis and Green Remediation. The soil health diagnosis and green remediation is concerned with ecological safety, food safety and habitat safety. Therefore, this lab has a great significance in implementing the national Action Plan of Prevention and Control of Soil Contamination, improving ecological environment, guarding against environmental risks and achieving green development.

The lab is the 50th key laboratory that approved by Ministry of Ecology and Environment Protection. It is the first key laboratory in the agricultural system. The laboratory was jointly applied and constructed by the College of Resources and Environment of HZAU and Hubei Institute of Ecological and Environmental Sciences. HZAU expects that an interdisciplinary team will be built to conduct innovative research on key scientific problems. And the lab will be conducive to China’s ecological environment improvement and sustainable development strategy, providing technological support to our soil environment management and safe utilization in personnel training, technological innovation and social services.
