On September 18, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSF) releases the appraisal results of projects in 2020. 186 projects from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) have been funded, with a direct cost of RMB 98.6 million and a success rate of 21.9%.
Projects of HAZU include 124 General Programs of NNSF, 53 Youth Programs of NNSF and 3 projects of Special Fund of NNSF. Particularly, 3 projects from Prof. Cao Shengbo, Prof. Luo Zhi and Prof. Feng Xionghan are funded by Key Programs of NNSF, 2 programs separately lead by Prof. Xiong Dongliang and Associate Researcher Ye Jing are funded by the Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, and Prof. Huang Qiaoyun’s project is funded by the Funds for International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange of NNSF.
Projects approved cover 7 departments of NNSF. To be specific, 138 are from Department of Life Sciences, 19 from Department of Earth Sciences, 8 from Department of Management Sciences, 8 from Department of Chemical Sciences, 6 from Department of Engineering and Material Sciences, 4 from Department of Information Sciences, and 3 from Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
As of press time, some projects are still in deliberation and approval, and results have not been released yet. Those items include projects from National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Joint Funds, Major Research Plans, some Funds for International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange of NNSF, and programs from Department of Health Sciences.
