On November 23, the Third Taobao Village Transformation and Development Forum hosted by HAZU and the Zhijiang Municipal People’s Government opened in Zhijiang City, Hubei Province，in order to establish a dialogue platform between industry and academia.
More than 260 people from 39 universities and research institutes in 18 provinces (cities), 13 local government departments, and many e-commerce companies and entrepreneurial platforms, attended the forum.
Zhijiang City Party Secretary Liu Fenglei delivered an opening speech, systematically introducing the development achievements and future planning of Zhijiang E-commerce. In his speech, Cheng Huadong, Director of Publicity Department of the Communist Party of HAZU, expressed welcome to the guests coming from afar, hoping that they would exchange their diverse ideas to spark innovative thinking there, build a platform for cooperation, and create a good opportunity for mutual development.
Participants visited Shenghuo Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., E-commerce Maker Center, Tianyun Rice Processing Industry Company, and Green and Healthy Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperatives in Longquantang Village, Wen’an Town. They also went around the e-commerce industrial park, which integrates public service, marketing promotion, product display, logistics distribution, innovation and entrepreneurship, financing support and other e-commerce industry chain functions.
Then, Wang Qing of HAZU shared her practical experience in cross-border e-commerce. Six e-commerce entrepreneurs from Zhijiang told their marketing stories of hard work. It is their transformation and development that made Zhijiang a crossroad for Taobao Village in Hubei Province.
Xiong Hang Prof. Dr. of HAZU, Zhou Xiaofeng, Product Manager of New East Net Technology Co., Ltd., Chen Xiangyun, General Manager of Government Affairs and Big Data Division of Beijing Rural Credit Interconnection Technology Group Co., Ltd. ,Ye Shanshan, deputy director of the Customer Research Center of Jiangxi Sinonc-Agri Science and Technology Co., Ltd., shared new e-commerce technologies and provided new ideas and technical support for the development of Taobao Village from the perspective of big data and artificial intelligence.
Prof. Zhou Deyi explained the reasons behind the Zhijiang phenomenon theoretically for the attendees’ reference and discussion. Prof. Guo Hongdong and Qu Jiang of Zhejiang University shared their paper entitled “Interaction between the Government and the Market: Achieving Poverty Reduction by E-commerce and Rural Rejuvenation”. Researchers and practitioners spoke to each other and sparked innovative thinking.
